  1. Here's why I'd like to be able to store the link info outside the 
  2. document.  I have documents that have a set order (chapters of a 
  3. book, chunks of chapters of a book) and that all need NEXT and 
  4. PREVIOUS links.  In the present HTML, I have to (don't I?) provide
  5. the URLs for the next and previous documents in each document.
  6. This is tedious and prone to error.

  8. I'd like to be able to provide a list of the docs in order, then
  9. in each doc just specify that it should have a NEXT and PREVIOUS
  10. link.  Then the browser can refer to the list of files and find
  11. the right URL.  If I want to change the order I can reorder the
  12. list of docs, without having to go into every file and change
  13. the URLs.

  15. Is there a way to do this in HTML+ that I have missed?
